TallShot Add to Chrome

Privacy policy

What happens to the pages you capture

The whole capture happens inside your browser. The image is saved to your Downloads folder and, if you keep that option on, copied to your clipboard. Nothing about the page, its address or its content is stored anywhere else, and nothing is uploaded. We never know which pages you capture.

The license key (Pro)

If you buy TallShot Pro, the extension sends your license key to our license service when you activate it, from time to time to confirm that it is still valid, and when you release it to use it on another browser. These requests contain no page content, no browsing history and nothing about you.

For each license, we keep the key, its activation details and the date of the last check. The email address you give at checkout is shared with us by Paddle and kept with the license, so that we can send you the key.

The trial

The 7-day Pro trial starts with your first capture. To remember that date, TallShot keeps it in the extension’s storage and in one technical cookie that contains that date only and is never sent to any server.

Settings and the key on your computer

Your settings and your license key stay on your computer, in Chrome’s extension storage. If Chrome sync is on, Chrome may copy them to your other devices, as it does for any extension.

Chrome permissions and why TallShot needs them

PermissionUsed for
activeTabCapturing the tab you are on, only when you click the icon or press the shortcut. TallShot has no standing access to any website.
scriptingScrolling and measuring the page during a capture.
storageSaving your settings, your license key and the trial date.
downloadsSaving the PNG or PDF to your Downloads folder and opening it.
offscreenAssembling the screenshots into one image.
clipboardWriteCopying the image to your clipboard, if that option is on.
notificationsShowing a “Capture saved” notification, if that option is on.
cookiesThe trial cookie described above, on one host of ours only.

TallShot requests no access to all websites, no debugger permission and loads no remote code.

Payments: Paddle

TallShot Pro is sold by Paddle, our merchant of record. The checkout runs on Paddle’s pages: Paddle collects your email address, your country and your payment details, handles taxes and invoices, and processes refunds. We never see your card number. Paddle shares with us your email address and the details of the transaction, nothing more. How Paddle handles your data is described in Paddle’s privacy policy.

Service providers

Besides Paddle, we rely on Cloudflare to host this website and the license service, on Resend to send the license key by email, and on Google Fonts for this website’s fonts. Each of them processes only what its role requires and is bound by its own privacy policy. This website uses no analytics and sets no cookies of its own.

How long we keep data, and how to delete it

License records are kept for as long as the license exists. To have yours deleted, write to support@tallshot.app from the email address used at checkout; we delete it within 30 days and the key then stops working. Paddle keeps its own records of the transaction for as long as the law requires.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new date.
